Record-breaking Temperature in UAE
UAE scorches Under Record Heatwave: 50.4°recorded in Abu Dhabi
The times are changing this summer, the UAE recorded the highest temperature for May on Friday, 23rd May 2025, at Al Shawamekh, Abu Dhabi. The record-breaking heat was recorded by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), sparking warnings from health and civil defence authorities urging residents and workers to take stringent precautions.
Stay one step ahead!
NCM has shared tips on how to stay safe from heat strokes, beat the heat, and stay one step ahead.
- Drink plenty of water and fluids
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight
- Wearing light-colored and cotton clothing
- Using hats and sunglasses
- Avoid outdoor activities during peak hours
- Ensure proper ventilation of enclosed spaces

Additional instructions for keeping yourself safe from heat stress and illness
- Avoid drinks that contain large amounts of sugar
- Ensure sound sleep and rest
- Check your urine colour; hydrate with plenty of water if it’s too yellow.
- Take small breaks whenever possible.
