It’s happening… Primark is finally coming to the Middle East!

Back in September 2024, fans of the iconic Irish fashion retailer had reason to celebrate when news broke that Primark might finally be making its way to our side of the world. On Thursday, September 5, retail giant Alshaya Group announced a strategic partnership with Primark to “explore opportunities to bring its stores to the Middle East.”

As expected, social media exploded with excitement. Affordable fashion, beauty, homeware, and all those viral Primark finds? Yes, please. While details are still under wraps, the buzz is real — and it looks like it’s only a matter of time before Primark opens its doors in the region.

John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, put it best:

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Primark to discuss potential opportunities to bring their stores to the region. For many years, shoppers across the region have asked for Primark, and we are looking forward to the start of a successful partnership to help bring their exceptional in-store experience to the GCC.”

There’s been a lot of buzz about Primark landing in Dubai, but let’s set the record straight — while rumors have swirled about the popular fashion retailer opening in malls across the city, nothing has been officially confirmed by Alshaya Group just yet.

What we can confirm? Primark’s first stop in the Middle East will be Kuwait, with the store opening there ahead of any Dubai debut. So yes, it’s happening — just not in Dubai yet. Once Kuwait is up and running, Dubai is expected to follow.

In other Alshaya Group news, they just brought the Disney Store to Dubai! The flagship UAE store officially opened in Dubai Mall on March 28, located on the second floor near the Dubai Aquarium. Another store opened earlier in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi, on March 26. Both stores are packed with magical merchandise — from costumes and toys to plushies, home décor, and collectibles.
