Nearly half of the participants are from the GCC, with the rest shining a light on underrepresented voices from the Global South. That means fresh perspectives, untold stories, and bold statements – all in one place.

This is where things get exciting. Art Dubai Contemporary showcases some of the most thought-provoking works from around the world, especially regions like Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. Expect experimental, deeply personal pieces you won’t find in your average gallery.
Bawwaba
“Bawwaba” means “gateway” in Arabic – and this section lives up to the name. Curated by Mirjam Varadinis, it features solo presentations that explore themes like displacement, identity, and global change. These works dive deep into how artists are reimagining life in a fractured world.
Modern
Modern art gets meaningful here. Curated by Magalí Arriola and Nada Shabout, this section uncovers important 20th-century movements from the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond. Think migration, resistance, and cultural exchange – told through powerful artistic lenses.
Digital
Welcome to the future. Curated by Gonzalo Herrero Delicado, Art Dubai Digital explores how AI, virtual reality, and new media are revolutionizing art. From immersive experiences to AI-generated pieces, this section is a must-see for tech-savvy creatives and curious minds alike.

2. Mohammed Kazem – Directions (Merging)
In this immersive piece, Dubai’s own Mohammed Kazem uses static coordinates and flowing waves to pull you into a dynamic microcosm of the city’s energy and movement.
3. Héctor Zamora
The acclaimed Mexican artist brings live performances and sculptural works using terracotta. This deeply symbolic experience also includes a special installation at Alserkal Avenue, kicking off a new focus on performance art.
4. Breakfast – Carbon Wake
New York-based kinetic artist Breakfast presents a live installation using real-time global energy data. Watch as the artwork physically reacts to how cities around the world consume energy—minute by minute.
5. Ania Soliman – Kahrabaa
Inspired by Beirut’s energy crisis, this installation uses motion and nature to explore memory, technology, and resilience. The name “Kahrabaa” means electricity in Arabic – and you’ll feel the spark.
6. Piaget x Alyamamah Rashed
Luxury meets surrealism. Kuwaiti artist Alyamamah Rashed blends her dreamlike aesthetic with Piaget’s retro design from the 60s and 70s, creating a captivating mix of jewellery, history, and artistic expression.
7. The Dubai Collection
Dubai’s very own institutional art collection returns to the spotlight. Celebrating local and regional talent, this initiative educates and inspires – reinforcing Dubai’s place as a global art hub.
