A New Arts Festival Lights Up Bluewaters Island This April

Bluewaters Becomes a Canvas for Collective Expression This April
It’s that time of year again—art season in Dubai is in full swing, and while you’ve likely marked the big festivals on your calendar, there’s a new art festival you won’t want to miss: The Bluewaters Art Festival.
A Vibrant Celebration of Art on Bluewaters Island
From April 12 to 20, 2025, Bluewaters Dubai will transform into a spectacular open-air gallery. The nine-day festival will bring color, creativity, and culture to the city’s iconic waterfront destination. This year’s theme, ‘Reconnect,’ promises to bridge cultures, generations, and perspectives through over 20 incredible murals, interactive installations, and live performances.
Explore the Art After Dark
The festival runs from 4pm to midnight, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore under the night sky. You won’t have to worry about the heat as you take in the stunning works of 23 visionary artists from places like the UAE, Türkiye, New York, and the UK. Expect vibrant murals, large-scale inflatable art, thought-provoking sculptures, and immersive experiences.
Immerse Yourself in Interactive Installations
Bluewaters Dubai will come alive with striking outdoor installations and sculptures, but that’s not all. You’ll also find a number of indoor exhibits scattered across the island, like the Kanvas Room, where dynamic light installations and interactive art await.
Spotlight on Featured Artists
The festival will shine a light on the works of seven featured artists, including Areen Hassan, whose sensory installations are inspired by her Palestinian heritage, and Kaveh Ahanger, who will bring visually captivating digital murals and string art to life. These artists will create stunning connections with the Bluewaters structures, making the entire island feel like a living, breathing work of art.
Get Hands-On: Workshops for All Ages
Want to get your hands dirty with some art? There are workshops for both kids and adults, where you can try fluid art, tote bag painting, shadow cutting, and more. To join in, simply spend Dhs150 or more at any Bluewaters venue and present your receipt. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to secure your place!
Live Performances, Art Talks, and More
Beyond the art installations, the festival will feature immersive art talks and live performances, making it a true celebration of creativity and culture. And while you’re there, enjoy some delicious food at one of the many restaurants scattered across the venue.
