UAE Introduces New Policy for Recognising Foreign University Degrees

The UAE has launched the "University Certificates Recognition" system, replacing the previous "University Qualification Equivalency" framework to simplify the process of recognizing foreign degrees.

This reform aims to enhance educational and employment opportunities for residents and expatriates.

The new recognition process for foreign university degrees in the UAE now follows two key stages:

The authenticity of the degree must be verified by Dataflow or QuadraBay, the two official agencies appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Verification costs vary by country and the awarding institute’s requirements.

2️⃣ Certificate of Recognition

Once verified, applicants receive a document that facilitates obtaining the Certificate of Recognition from the Ministry.

Important Recognition Criteria

✅ The university must be officially recognized by the relevant authorities in its country.

✅ Students must follow approved study methods by their university.

✅ If studying online, ensure the university is recognized for distance learning by the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education.

🚫 Not Recognized:

❌ Vocational certificates without formal study

❌ Short-term training program certificates

❌ Degrees obtained through specialized programs for specific demographics
