UAE Introduces AI Drones for Eid Al Fitr 2025 Moon Sighting

UAE to Use AI-Powered Drones for Eid Al Fitr 2025 Moon Sighting
The UAE is revolutionizing the traditional moon-sighting process with cutting-edge AI drones to determine the start of Eid Al Fitr 2025. This high-tech approach aims to enhance accuracy in spotting the crescent moon, which marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the festive holiday.
The Ramadan Crescent Moon Sighting Committee, under the UAE Council for Fatwa, has called on citizens and residents to look for the moon on Saturday, March 29, 2025 (29th Ramadan 1446 AH). If you spot the crescent, you can report it via:
Hotline: 027774647
Online form
While the AI drones are expected to provide more precise data, the big question remains: Will Eid fall on March 30 or March 31? The official announcement will confirm the exact date soon.

Eid Travel & Parking Updates
In preparation for celebrations, Dubai’s RTA has announced:
Extended Dubai Metro timings for smoother travel.
Free public parking during Eid (except for multi-level terminals).
Stay tuned for the official moon-sighting verdict—and get ready to celebrate! Eid Mubarak in advance! 🌙✨

Eid Al-Fitr: The Joyous Festival of Breaking the Fast
Eid Al-Fitr, meaning “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is one of Islam’s two major holidays—a time of celebration, gratitude, and community after the holy month of Ramadan.
Why is Eid Al-Fitr Significant?
Marks the end of Ramadan, the month of dawn-to-dusk fasting (Sawm), one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
A spiritual reward for a month of devotion, self-discipline, and increased prayer.
Celebrates unity, forgiveness, and charity—Muslims give Zakat al-Fitr (obligatory charity) before Eid prayers to ensure the poor can join the festivities.
How is Eid Celebrated?
🌙 Eid Prayers: Held at mosques or open grounds at sunrise, followed by sermons.
🕌 Community Gatherings: Families and friends share festive meals (sweet treats like dates and ma’amoul are staples!).
💝 Gifts & New Clothes: Many wear their finest outfits and exchange gifts, especially children.
🤲 Acts of Kindness: Visiting relatives, reconciling conflicts, and helping those in need.
The Connection to Ramadan
Ramadan, the 9th month of the Islamic (lunar) calendar, is a sacred time of:
Fasting (Sawm): Abstaining from food, drink, and negative behavior from dawn to sunset.
Spiritual Growth: Deepening faith through Quran recitation, nightly prayers (Taraweeh), and reflection.
Charity: Increased donations (Zakat and Sadaqah) to support the less fortunate.
Eid Al-Fitr is the culmination of this journey—a day of joy, gratitude, and renewal.
Eid Mubarak! (“Blessed Eid!”) 🌟 May it bring peace, happiness, and unity to all.
