DXB Airport Braces for 2.5 Million Passengers in the Coming Week

In the midst of a peak travel surge, Dubai Airport prepares for 2.5 million passengers.

Between February 20 and February 28, an estimated 2.5 million passengers will pass through Dubai International Airport’s terminals. The airport is preparing for this significant influx of travelers. On average, the airport will see 280,000 passengers daily, with February 22 projected to be the busiest day, welcoming over 295,000 arrivals.

The surge in travelers is largely due to school holidays and major international events, making the airport and surrounding roads busier than usual. To ease congestion, authorities recommend using the Dubai Metro for a smoother journey to and from the airport.

The Arrivals bus stop will be unavailable beginning on February 21 for passengers arriving at Terminal 1, including British Airways passengers. The RTA website provides information on alternative transportation options as well as the most recent bus schedules.

Additionally, Emirates Airlines has provided passengers flying during this peak period with travel updates. Travelers should also be aware of road closures over the weekend due to the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, taking place on February 22 and 23, which may impact traffic routes across the city.
